Role Purpose

As a Junior Project Manager you will support the end-to-end management and development of projects — from initial scoping and planning through to successful deployment and retrospective review.

You will work closely with the head of projects, developers, engineers, and business stakeholders, and you will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop deep project management expertise in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Assist in creating and maintaining comprehensive project plans, timelines, and schedules.
  • Support the definition of project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including developers, engineers to ensure alignment.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including status reports, and meeting minutes.

Execution & Monitoring

  • Track project progress against milestones and flag risks or blockers proactively.
  • Facilitate daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings under Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Manage and update project management tools (e.g., Shortcut) to reflect real-time project status.
  • Identify and escalate project risks, dependencies, and issues to senior PMs in a timely manner.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Prepare and distribute regular project status updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing stakeholder expectations through clear and professional communication.
  • Support client-facing interactions under the guidance of a senior PM where applicable.

Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the improvement of PM processes, templates, and best practices within the team.
  • Assist in post-project reviews and document lessons learned for future reference.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Equivalent work experience in a software project coordination role will be considered.

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in a project coordination or project management role within a software/tech environment.
  • Hands-on exposure to Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
  • Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Asana, Monday.com,Shortcut or MS Project.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) – certified or actively pursuing.
  • PRINCE2 Foundation – certified or actively pursuing.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certification is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-changing environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
