The Role
We’re looking for a driven and experienced Head of Business Development to help take Credable to the next level across African, East & Central Asian markets. If you have a strong background in the startup world and deep experience in fintech, banking, or payment solutions, this could be the perfect role for you.
In this role, you will be focused on identifying new business opportunities, building strong partnerships, and ensuring a smooth onboarding process for our business customers, all to help us hit our revenue goals and expand into new markets. A big part of the job will be working with partners like Mobile Network Operators (MNO’s), Banks, and other B2C networks while using data to guide smart decisions and strengthen relationships with major enterprise brands like Visa and Mastercard.
Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of business development initiatives across African and APAC markets by driving high-impact strategies that ensure a continuous pipeline of opportunities, fuelling Credable’s expansion and long-term success.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, track emerging trends, and stay ahead of the competition, ensuring data-driven decision-making that supports strategic growth.
- Develop and nurture strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including Mobile Network Operators, banks, and other B2C networks, to expand Credable’s market presence and create mutually beneficial opportunities for growth.
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with clients by understanding their unique needs, delivering exceptional value, and fostering long-term partnerships that contribute to sustained business success.
- Craft and deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals that effectively showcase Credable’s value proposition, addressing client needs with tailored solutions that drive conversions and business growth.
- Lead complex contract negotiations with potential partners and clients, ensuring agreements align with Credable’s strategic objectives while creating win-win outcomes that drive sustainable growth.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including product, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of business development strategies and alignment with Credable’s overall goals.
- Set ambitious revenue targets and work with a high-performance mindset to achieve and exceed them, consistently driving growth and delivering measurable results that contribute to Credable’s success.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, while providing regular insights and performance reports to support data-driven strategic planning and continuous improvement.
- Represent Credable at key industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities, enhancing the company’s reputation and positioning it as a thought leader within the fintech space.
Person Specification
Required
- 5+ years of experience in business development within fintech, banking, or payment solutions.
- Proven track record in driving business growth within the startup ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of financial inclusion and digital banking solutions tailored to emerging markets.
- Strong negotiation, networking, and relationship management skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and business expansion.
Preferred
- Experience working in multinational environments, particularly within emerging markets.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks across African, East & Central Asia regions.
